Besides Aluminium based laminates Alcan, Packaging offer thermo-formable COC materials for blister packaging.
These materials comprise of COC film in gauges 120, 190, 240 and 300 mic. as barrier layer co-extruded with PP layers on both the sides. The lidding foil for sealing to PP is also offered by Alcan Packaging.

These are halogen free environmental friendly materials.
They provide reasonably good moisture barrier after forming.
These materials can be used on existing thermoform blister packaging machines.
The yield is comparatively better than other thermo-formable materials.
High stiffness.
These materials are manufactured without use of organic solvents.
Materials show little aging and hence good stability.
Improved sealing strength.
The materials are resistant to acids and alcohols.
Laminated versions of material are available to provide good gas barrier.
Sealing layer as PVC can also be provided.
COC materials can be considered as an anti-counterfeiting packaging solution since these are not available from other sources but only from authorized convertors of COC films such as Alcan Packaging.
